And..... I'm Back!

Well the last month and a half have been eventful. I finished college early, survived exams, and started looking for jobs. Recently the last week or two I have been enjoying my family, and getting ready for the holidays. Here's what you missed!

Cornhuskin': Shuck what your mamma gave you

Cornhuskin' Friday ended up to be a beautiful day! The parade in the afternoon, a quick dinner, Cornhuskin', and then pancakes after it was an amazing last night with all of my friends and class members. Even though we came in second (we went over time for our skit) it was an amazing night!

Can Art

Well last week was Cornhuskin' week or in common terms an all girls school equivalent of homecoming week. It's a week of class competition, traditions, bows, costumes, and late night practices. On Friday or the actual day of Cornhuskin' is when each class preforms a skit, class song, hog callin', corn shuckin', and apple bobbin'. It might sound a little crazy but it's tradition!

White Iris Ball

Well the end of the semester has officially hit! Lots of work, job searching, magic 8 ball reading, studying, and more studying has been filling every waking minute. I did however find time to go to White Iris ball, the semi formal fall dance. Even though the music was only slightly terrible it was still lots of fun!

Egg Rolls

Well this past weekend was my fall break (thank goodness!) and it honestly could not have come any sooner. It was nice to have a few days off, and think a little less about school. I also got to spend some good quality time with my family, and my boyfriend. A few shopping trips, a evening at the symphony with my boyfriend, and trying out this new recipe were all part of the fun. Now all I want is another break. Too bad the next one is Thanksgiving.....

Cooked veggies

 Baked Egg Rolls

• 1 tsp olive oil
• 2 cups of cabbage, chopped
• 2 cups of shredded carrots
• 2 cups of bean sprouts
• 1 can of water chestnuts, chopped
• 2 green onions, sliced
• 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
• 2 tbsp soy sauce
• 1 tbsp corn starch
• 1/4 cup water
  

 Cook all the veggies together in the oil, mix cornstarch water and soy sauce and add to the cooked veggies. Roll and bake for 15 minutes, turning once in the middle.
